| --------------------------- | Change Of Venue... After two years of great service (free) from EasyHost, the 'BEAMS have moved to a bigger site, at POWWEB. We loved EasyHost, if you want a one page web page FREE, with your own domain name (which you have to pay for), EasyHost is the way to go. A link is below. POWWEB offers expanded room for more links, photos, movies, and at a great price. Don't change any bookmarks, the web address remains thehighbeams.com Soon you'll get more pix, and even more videos. Check back often and watch the site build.
Thursday Night Boogie... Three of the original 'Beams hooked up with HIGHBEAM John Dickson for old home night August 30th at Luna Park. It was great to see so many friendly faces, and to rock the Park again. The 'BEAMS played a fifty minute set culled from a 1993 setlist. John Luck shot some video, links are below. Our hosts, the Soul Benders, made everything easy for us, we'd like to thank them and Luna Park for including us on the bill. Dave's sister Susan is coming around with four shows in the DC/Annapolis/Charlottesville area - and a new album - her fifth. Some of you may remember one of her first shows in DC, that's right, with the 'BEAMS. Some Friends Are Playing... HIGHBEAM Charley Gilbert is playing onstage with Frank Johnson and Last Plane Out at the Barefoot Pelican on WEDNESDAY, Nov. 7. JK is running sound. HIGHBEAM John Dickson is blowin' harp with country singer Katy Benko and in his band NIGHT TRAIN. Check out Weird World... In the weird world department there is a new band, only distantly related to the HIGHBEAMS, called, of all things, KALUTA. The Liverpool based group named itself after John's brother Michael (really!) and recently released an EP. You can buy the CD online, or just download a sample. Michael's working on a TV pilot for WB about OZ, the fantasy world, not the jail. The Postcards... Check the postcard records to see how many HB postcards you have collected.
The fine print... The HIGHBEAMS are John Kaluta, Dave Werner, Mark Barker and Fabio Maniani. Charley Gilbert and Bill Munson are also HIGHBEAMS, and appear at shows from time to time. You may also remember John Dickson and.... well, let's just say there are more HIGHBEAMS than there are ticket scalpers hanging around outside MCI Center these days. Revisit thehighbeams.com to get more news and to see and hear more of the HIGHBEAMS. Click in soon for updates and to read "The History of the HIGHBEAMS," now being edited by an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of keyboards.
